Midtown CPA firm seeks an Accounting Clerk for our New York City location. This individual will provide support to internal accounting department. 

Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the internal accounting group
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Complete client specific data entry projects
  • Analyze transactions for assigned accounts
  • Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare variety of reports
  • Update and maintain variety of general journals, records, and other transactions as assigned
  • Prepare and maintain journal entries
  • Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Verify the accuracy of AP & AR invoices and investigate questionable data


  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or working towards it
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferable CPA firm
  • Microsoft office experience (Excel a must)
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, self-starter, innovative, superior organizational skills, and a good attendance record
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed – overtime and Saturday hours may be required
  • Attention to detail
